Summer Intern Program
PGC in Partnership with Boscobel House & Gardens

Boscobel is offering a summer internship during the months of July and August to upcoming high school juniors, seniors, or graduating seniors.

Boscobel is an elegant, neoclassical mansion in Garrison.  It receives thousands of visitors each year, and the summer months are particularly busy with guests visiting the historic house and its beautiful gardens.  It is also the home of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival.

Applicants should have an interest in horticulture.  The main responsibility is the care and maintenance of approximately 600 rose bushes in the formal Rose Garden.  This includes heading roses, identifying insect and disease problems that plague roses, watering, weeding, and edging and sheering borders.  Other responsibilities include general maintenance of the Woodland Trail, watering plants in other areas, speaking to visitors with a knowledgeable understanding of the history of Boscobel, and generally helping out in other areas of the grounds on an as need basis.

Stipend: $1,000.00
Hours: eight 20 hour weeks, flexible hours
